Flounce: Magical Vintage Frocks
The Echo Park ave. Gallery Row section is home to all kinds of little shops, a salon, a cafe and studios...nestled in the middle is FLOUNCE Vintage. Owner Lisa Gerstein somehow gathers the best of of every era at her shop. Her specialty seems to be hunting down the most precious and delicate 1920's and 30's gossamer gowns. Floating fabrics and colorful 60's prints appear on every rack. The shop's recent flood did nothing to diminish the luxurious stock- in fact it just brought out more lovely finds. The few pieces that did not survive the wreck have been placed in bins from $1 dollar to $20. Some of those slightly water damaged pieces are from the flapper era, the Victorian era etc...
I recently scored a pink and green plaid 30's/40's style evening gown with a million black faceted buttons down the back and a plume puff bustle...$20 dollars!
Vivlish scored a sequin beaded graphic white and navy 60's floral print evening gown that trails a magical train. check it out!!
I also was lucky to find a $10 PUCCI-esque mod velvet clutch purse.
according to the press:
"Flounce is a cozy, low-key treasure trove full of great vintage finds, impeccably preserved and reasonably priced, housed in a environment that feels like shopping in Auntie Mame’s living room. Whether hunting for the perfect evening gown or unusual daywear, Flounce is the place to find that one-of-a-kind piece that everyone will ask about."
I wanted to post about all the new fabulous summer sheer frocks and mod sixties dresses that have just arrived at FLOUNCE. Her summer sale racks also offer some scores!
