the new you

100_2304

Last night I attended an Equinox party for ladies only. That's right, SPRING has sprung and the Vernal Equinox (like the Autumnal Equinox) is a time of balance. These are the days we welcome the light and plant new seeds towards the magical things we want to manifest in the future. According to some legends this time also reflects upon the past and atoning for the mis-deeds of our previous year. Letting go of the things no longer useful or productive to our happiness. Viv and I brought along our good intentions and nestled in the backyard of her friend Eva. The trees dangled candle lanterns and the ground was strewn with pillows and blankets. I wish I had my camera on hand to capture the pretty scene.
We all sat around and wrote down the things we needed to let go of in order to secure our future good times. Remember this time is all about:
rebirth
renewal
resurrection
liberation
letting go
sacrifices
choices
responsibility for actions
--------------------------------------------
Sure it's all on the new age side, but aren't you ready to surrender to fate?
It was an exciting feeling watching everyone throw pieces of their past in a burning bucket. It honestly made me want to rush home and box up a lot of my silly clutter and donate it pronto.
According to our friend it's a great time for Spring Cleaning - emotionally and otherwise.
