hello N.Y.C. hello CHICAGO!

(Move over Carrie Bradshaw, there's a new book signing in town.) If you are in the Big Apple and want to come and meet up with me, I will be going to NYC on July 16th til the 19th for my ZUNE ARTS Graphic Novel signing. The actual signing is : Date: Thursday July 17, 2008 Time: 4:00 – 6:00pm Location: Midtown Comics – Times Square 200 W 40th Street (Corner of 7th Avenue) New York, NY 10018 212-302-8192 http://www.midtowncomics.com/ Also in attendance are my collaborating artists Dr. REVOLT, Morning BREATH, and GARY Panter. This should be fun. I will expect some entertaining around the city, some nice outdoor cafe chats, some late night dancing, and some sight seeing tours orchestrated by you! Did I mention I am on the same flight as my gal pal photographer Jeaneen? and that Fran will also be there at the same time!? And that they gave me a HOTEL room? That spells trouble. I will be flying to CHICAGO to do an art show with artist Phoebe Fisher in WICKER PARK. The actual show is called SPELLBOUND, named after her favorite Siouxie S. song, and is on AUGUST 8th Friday. The space is called Heaven Gallery. Heaven Gallery is a non- profit art gallery devoted to exhibiting the work of new and emerging artists. In 1997 David Dobie established Heaven in the Flat Iron Building in Wicker Park, Chicago. In July 2000, the gallery moved across the street to its current location, 1550 north Milwaukee. So if you live near Chicago- try to venture out to see me there! I am loving my summer art travels, and hope to run into friends along the way. I will be showing all new art work as well as selling off one of kind handprinted and painted t-shirts.

Oh I'm so excited! I live about 10 minutes from Heaven in Chicago! I have a few friends who have Artist studios in the Flat Iron Building. I've never met Phoebe Fisher...but I love her work! She painted a huge mermaid on the front of my friend Dana's Vintage Clothing shop. And has done a couple art shows with my good friend JoJo! You would LOVE JoJo...he's really magickal!

I hope to see you while your here! I've lived in the Wicker Park area for about 10 years, so I'd be happy to let you know where the good bars, restaurants, and shops are! It's alot like Echo Park is and was...xo Lavona
