Last year, my Thanksgiving was pure bliss. Imagine a room of your best gal pals-all sorts of yummy foods, a t.v. playing "I love you to death", and no family nagging about why you don't have a real job.
So- what's a single girl to do, but try for round two. I'm excited to have it this year at my new big table- surrounded by friends and later movies on my new comfy couch!
Growing up Thanksgiving was my least favorite holiday. I suppose it's because I didn't like turkey or meat, or listening to my family fight about why the gravy tasted like nothing. It's also the last holiday my family spent together before my parent's big "divorce".
The one after that was spent without my dad. My mom and I wore our robes and my sister said it wasn't "traditional" or a "real" Thanksgiving if we didn't bother getting dressed up. So she left and went to her boyfriends place. My mom and I spent it alone. She also let the turkey slip off the plate and into the dirty sink by accident. We still ate it, while sitting on the couch watching t.v.
I have to say- I welcome the return to a relaxed holiday.
