you may be asked...

Cpics_austin135

My beautiful friend Cynthia recently asked me to drive with her across the country in a van full of musical equipment. At first I was contemplating the spontaneous decision, but realized that there was too much work left at the Show Pony. Today she sent me these magical enchanted forest images from her stay in Austin TX at SXSW. It's nice when a friend texts you images of trees webbed with wonderful objects and then the message "Wish you were here to see this"

I can only imagine how it must've been with musicians playing on top of the river.Cpics_austin080

anyplace where you can be under the stars, surrounded by trees sparkling with flair, listening to bands play while water flows underneath them has to be pretty cool

the new you

100_2304

Last night I attended an Equinox party for ladies only. That's right, SPRING has sprung and the Vernal Equinox (like the Autumnal Equinox) is a time of balance. These are the days we welcome the light and plant new seeds towards the magical things we want to manifest in the future. According to some legends this time also reflects upon the past and atoning for the mis-deeds of our previous year. Letting go of the things no longer useful or productive to our happiness. Viv and I brought along our good intentions and nestled in the backyard of her friend Eva. The trees dangled candle lanterns and the ground was strewn with pillows and blankets. I wish I had my camera on hand to capture the pretty scene.
We all sat around and wrote down the things we needed to let go of in order to secure our future good times. Remember this time is all about:
rebirth
renewal
resurrection
liberation
letting go
sacrifices
choices
responsibility for actions
--------------------------------------------
Sure it's all on the new age side, but aren't you ready to surrender to fate?
It was an exciting feeling watching everyone throw pieces of their past in a burning bucket. It honestly made me want to rush home and box up a lot of my silly clutter and donate it pronto.
According to our friend it's a great time for Spring Cleaning - emotionally and otherwise.

my new favorite

My new favorite Ebay model remains nameless. Of course in the world of online auctions, these girls rarely get credited. I like to fancy that she is sort of a "Gia" or "Charlotte" perhaps something tough like "Angie".

She reminds me of that cool early 80's movie TIMESQUARE, and girls that cut gym class and smoked instead. Anyway, I don't know if it's good or bad, but her attitude cancels out my ability to check out the clothes. I'm in the mood for that doily shredded looking cream top...

Bringing sexy back

It was overdue. Mr. Georgie boy needed his super shaggy fur maintained. Lucky for me my friend has a pet grooming mobile van up the street. This time I opted to not attend the torture. The look on his face when the water is pouring down into his big eyes is more wounding than a Keane painting.

It's funny when he first returns from the beauty salon. He has a sort of routine, where he is ashamed at first and then prancing around in his naked skin. Did I mention his head resembles a football or the baby from Family Guy?
I often imagine him having that accent, especially when he is attempting to wake me up for meals. Anyway, here's the latest status on his good looks.100_2221

good things and doilies

Whenever things trigger my mind to want to make things, it's good news.
Here's a few from the weekend. Some are from the creative vault of 2006. What is old is often new again when you forgot the feeling you had the first time it grabbed you

not only is she stunning, but I heard she has the most throaty sexy deep voice on camera

Gant spent most, if not all, of his life struggling to communicate despite diagnoses of autism and deafness and a resulting inability to verbalize. His work had a way of communicating for him.
