I put that last post on hold, (the one about me scoring the next cover of FLAUNT mag!) because I revealed the cover and the art and then felt like it was unfair since it's not coming out for a little while. So for the few people who saw it that one day it was posted, Shhhh. IT will be revealed again when it's closer to publication. And since I have a lot of good news lately to share about all the fun projects/jobs I've been given this summer, remember that graphic novel that I helped collaborate on? Well it's coming out June 26th! It's for the cool Microsoft/ZUNE Arts. (did I ever mention that Bill Gates and I are born on the same day?) I'm flying to NYC July 17th to do a book signing. Click invite to read it all. I've been finding all kinds of strange and fascinating things that for some reason I want to show you. They are not connected, do not make sense huddled in a blog group, and yet the randomness of finding them all, somehow groups them into some nice family unit. I recently bought a cool tote to take to the Farmer's Market to get produce. It's massive and has a gigantic FOX on the front. Williams- I haven't mentioned it much, but I am going back to Ohio-my hometown, next week. I'll try to keep you posted on some good finds out there. And...scene. Promise to get more organized with my brain- and thoughts for next post.

Who's That Girl?

Nothing like a new summer muse to crush out on! I recently took a long look at the pouty gap toothed model Iekeliene Stange and immediately found an endless source of inspiration. Meet my new favorite model/muse: According to WWWD "We enjoy her randomness, from telling Women’s Wear Daily that one of her hobbies is “making amazing tutus”—seriously—to her fondness for wearing a vintage pair of large, lens-free, red glasses to events. It’s also cool that her most beloved bag isn’t the latest designer du jour tote, but a granny-style vintage find. We’re not the only ones who approve of her look; she’s currently the face of Topshop, Sonia Rykiel, and Burberry Black Label. Stange also has impressive range as a model. She walks on the elite couture catwalks (Christian Dior, Chanel) and is picked by the best younger designers for their shows too (Phillip Lim, Rodarte, Thakoon, Alexander Wang). Of course she’s been shot by the biggies as well: Jurgen Teller photographed her for last spring’s Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign, Mario Testino snapped her for the D&G campaign this past fall, and both Tim Walker and Steven Klein worked with her for British and Italian Vogue, respectively. Perhaps all the time spent in front of the camera has informed her non-tutu-related hobby—photography—as well. Like past MOTM Sasha Pivovarova, Stange has artistic aspirations beyond her current career. She been hard at work behind the lens and it’s wildly rumored that Stange will have an exhibition in London this spring. The potential show wouldn’t be your average model-turned-whatever vanity project. The Dutch snapper is already a published photographer whose work has appeared in fashionable magazines like Japanese Harper’s Bazaar and Muse.

Sometimes when I've had 3 hours sleep, and after throwing up a green corn tamale and a pina colada...I like to wake up early and get inspired to clean. That means either a, actually cleaning B. "getting inspired" to clean by checking out people's homes that are much better decorated than your own will ever be. On Apt Therapy they featured the lush home of Interior Designer Kevin HAley who lives in the hills of Hollywood. How many more jobs do I need to take in order to have a yard? About his place he says "...I like to feel cocooned inside the house... but the outside is vital too- the way the light, scents and sounds of nature come into the house is as important as the way it's furnished. There's nothing more tranquil than staring out at moving leaves..." Thought the style of them was cool I'd also like to own this creepy set of kitty outsider art bookends. The inside cover reads...(Whenever you need a reminder that it can always get worse) For those who may think that is negative thinking, alas, it is simply funny and entertaining.

A lot of my good friends are leaving for almost the entire summer! What gives? What am I gonna do when the jobs settle down and I have so much free time to kill? Who is gonna dance with me to bad music? And since when did everyone and their mother become involved in TOURING rock gigs anyhow? Geez. We threw a little send off party for David and Taylor. Both are going on the road. Miss Cynthia is already on the road til AUGUST!! I informed my friends about the Olsen Twins, and the celeb insider tip that whenever they are about to get photographed they supposedly say "PRUNE" Kinda looks exactly like them, huh? Maybe more Keira Knightly? We left the bar scene and headed to Sara CAKE's birthday party. She was wearing her signature Bias cut handmade evening gown with train. Which will probably be torn later in a doorway. the party was on a balcony, with a lovely cake and lots of trashy flappers Late LAte we ended up at a Diner eating cherry pie a la mode with sides of french fries. The good life.
